If you are like most parents, you trust that no child of yours would ever drink alcohol – let alone drink and drive.  Unfortunately, the fact is that seventy (70) percent of all teenagers drink alcohol.  It should not be surprising to learn, then, that, in a survey, over half of the teenagers that admitted to drinking alcohol also admitted to driving at least once after drinking.  Yes, you never can never really be sure what your children do outside of your direct supervision.

Explanations for teenage drinking and driving range from the false notion of “teenage invincibility” to the increase in personal freedoms that comes with driving to straight up peer pressure.  Whatever the reasons, it could end up costing you a fortune in attorney fees and fines to protect them and cost your underage driver even more in terms of having a conviction on their record at such an early age.

So, while it’s nice to assume the best, you should be prepared for the worst.  With teenage drinking and social pressure to drink and to do other drugs at an all-time high, does it make any sense to leave yourself financially unprotected from your child’s mistake and leave your child legally unprotected from the mistakes they might make behind the wheel?  We think not and that’s why we offer the Child Protection Plan.
